Join this special challenge and learn 5 essential tech skills you’ve ALWAYS wished you had! These are incredibly useful skills that can make your music teaching life a lot easier - no matter which age group you teach or whether you’re a general classroom teacher, a band/orchestra/choir teacher, or a private studio teacher.

During this “have-a-go” challenge, you will learn a bite-sized skill each day:

  • shorten an audio file and add a fade-out
  • remove a section from a video and add a fade-in and fade-out
  • notate a simple song in notation software
  • screen record a music site and make it sound great
  • the magic of MIDI! Transform your Song Maker (or other site) creation into a digital audio workstation
You can earn 5 digital badges, which can be added to your CV or LinkedIn profile and shared with your admin, colleagues, or prospective employers! PLUS, if you complete all 5 during the challenge period, you’ll also earn a professional development certificate of attendance.

This challenge is designed for ALL music teachers and will take place inside the Midnight Music Membership Community. Each of the 5 skills will be explained in daily pre-recorded video tutorials that you can watch as many times as you need. It’s very beginner-friendly, and no prior knowledge is assumed! Plus, there will be personalised help and support from friendly music tech experts throughout the entire challenge.

When does the challenge take place?
  • The 5-Day Challenge tasks are available on an ongoing basis.
  • Access to the challenge is inside the Midnight Music Membership Community.
  • You can access the challenge in full through our special trial membership.

Who is this 5-day challenge for?
This challenge is suitable for music teachers of all types - elementary, middle school, and high school teachers, private studio teachers, and ensemble leaders.

What’s involved with the challenge?
This challenge aims to teach you some incredibly useful tech skills “you wished you knew but were too afraid to ask” 😀. Each day will involve a mini assignment: you’ll learn a simple tech skill, complete the task (they’re straightforward - I promise!), and we’ll award you with a digital badge. Complete all 5 skills, and you’ll ALSO receive a professional development certificate of attendance.

What will I need to take part in the challenge?
You’ll need to have a Mac or PC laptop/desktop computer, or a Chromebook, plus internet access.
We will use free software/apps during the challenge, and registered participants will be given more information closer to the challenge start date.

Do I need to watch the tutorials live at a specific time? What if I fall behind?
All tutorials and other materials are pre-recorded so you can watch at any time that suits you, your time zone, and your other commitments! You do not need to complete each task every day - you can work at your own pace. You will have access to the challenge materials for as long as your membership is active, so if you need to take your time, you can.

Can I access other courses or webinars inside the Midnight Music Community during my trial?
Yes! Once you sign up for your 14-day trial (or our regular monthly or annual membership options), you'll gain access to EVERYTHING inside the Midnight Music Community. That means you can watch any of our popular webinar replays, complete a course, or view our quick tech tips while you have access. You can also ask tech questions in our forum. PD certificates are provided for all webinars and courses, so it's a great opportunity to bump up your PD hours while you're there!

What happens at the end of my trial membership?
Your trial membership will automatically convert to a special reduced monthly membership plan (this will be specified on the trial membership sign-up page). Don't worry - we will send multiple reminders before this happens, in case you don't want to continue with your membership at the end of the trial. However, we're hoping you'll stick around for a while and explore our popular webinars and courses.

What will happen after the challenge week ends?
All the challenge videos and other content will continue to be available inside the Midnight Music Membership Community after the official 5-day challenge week has ended. If you join us on the 14-day $1 trial offer, we'd love to have you stick around once your trial period ends. You'll have access to everything in the Midnight Music Community for as long as you have an active membership.

Can I get a professional development certificate for this training?
Yes - if you complete all 5 challenge days, you’ll earn a professional development certificate of attendance. You will also earn 5 digital badges, which are designed to be shared with your admin, colleagues, prospective employers, or added to your LinkedIn profile!
