About This Webinar

Creating great-looking worksheets, test questions, theory handouts and other notation resources in Musescore involves a number of “non-musical” formatting techniques which can be difficult to locate in the manual - even if you did have the time and motivation to read it!

In this webinar, you’ll learn step-by-step how to create education-specific notation examples that you can use in your documents, slides, posters or flashcards. The techniques shown will be perfect for creating worksheets or tests, adding accommodations such as note names in noteheads and creating high-resolution excerpts or test questions so that they look crisp and clear in your teaching materials.

We’ll use the free notation software Musescore which can be installed on either Macs and PCs.

By the end of this workshop you will learn how to:

  • remove staff lines
  • hide barlines, notes, rests, and key signatures (so that students need to add them back in!)
  • create large-sized staves and notes
  • format short one or two-measure examples
  • add note names to noteheads
  • change note colors
  • create stick notation
  • insert the examples in your documents or slides

Who is this for?
This webinar is for all music teachers of all age levels.

Can I get a professional development certificate?

Yes - a professional development certificate will be available on completion.
