Writing drum parts can be one of the more difficult tasks in any notation software, especially if you’re not a drummer yourself. In this webinar, we’ll cover how to create a basic drum beat in your notation software and some best practices when it comes to what to include in your score so that your drummer can see what to play at a glance. You’ll learn about the mechanics of creating drum parts using one or two “voices” in your notation software, as well as the extras like drum fills, repeat pattern signs, articulation and playback. MuseScore will be used during the webinar, but the same techniques and approaches can be used in other notation software such as Sibelius, Noteflight, Flat, Dorico and more.
